Leila Booysen

Leila is a registered acupuncturist with a warm and compassionate approach to patient care. She is passionate about supporting the body’s natural ability to heal, regulate and restore balance.

She graduated Cum Laude from the University of Johannesburg with a Bachelor of Health Sciences in Complementary Medicine, and is currently completing her Master’s degree in Complementary Medicine with a focus in Homeopathy.

In 2025, Leila completed specialised clinical training at Chengdu Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital in Sichuan, China. This experience gave her valuable exposure to the integration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and conventional healthcare within a hospital setting.

She also serves as Vice-Head of Events for the Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Association of Africa, where she contributes to the development and promotion of acupuncture and Chinese medicine in South Africa.

Originally from the mountain village of Kaapsehoop in Mpumalanga, Leila has a deep appreciation for nature, mindful living and holistic wellbeing. These values continue to shape her calm, grounded approach, helping patients feel heard, supported and cared for.

Leila has a particular interest in supporting patients with musculoskeletal pain, neck and shoulder tension, stress-related concerns, sleep difficulties, anxiety, emotional wellbeing and individualised acupuncture care.
