Hering’s Law of cure is a very important principle in Homeopathy that Homeopath use and it is the law that helps us to understand how your healing process is taking place and how it’s being monitored.
Your health history is one of the key pieces of information needed during a consultation. very important, and that is why the following questions are asked in a consultation.
The health history
How long have you had a problem
What was the reason this disease was triggered?
Why were you fine before and now you’ve got this problem?
Doctor Hering looked at what happened when he was treating people, and when they were getting better – and that was his observation. The interesting thing is when you observe how a person is getting better and whether or not they are on the right track.
The Laws of Healing in reverse order used in Homeopathy
We will look a the one law today – So one of the first things is that you want the symptoms that you have at the moment to disappear in reverse order. So if a person had, in the timeline history, when they were 10, sinusitis, age 22 migraines, and age 30 stomach issues – that is then the reversal of their symptoms. So after their stomach issues improve, migraines might be around, and then their sinuses might drain. When the symptoms appear in reverse order, it is usually for a much lesser time.
It is as-if the body is elimination and ‘detoxing’.
So what happens when a person has eczema?
With conventional medicine, let’s say a patient might be given Cortisone. After this treatment, the skin looks much better. But what happens with most patients when they stop the Cortisone is that the symptoms come back, and the skin does not look great again. So they go for another load of cortisone, and the same thing happens. The problem is not resolved. In fact, it is pushed deeper into the body.
In children with Eczema, we see that, when treated with cortisone, the skin improves but months later they get a runny nose for example, which is then treated with Corticosteroids. The child’s symptoms appear to improve, but a few months later, they start getting sore throats, and the next step to that is chest problems. Can you see how it is pushed deeper and deeper into the body?
The goal of Homeopathy is not to let the symptoms get pushed into the body but released and resolved and that the body naturally heals itself.
How long does it take for us to get better, or will it take time for me to heal?
You have to look at the seriousness of your health issue, with regard to the disease evolution chart, because that gives us an idea of exactly where are and how much ‘work’ needs to be done.
