What is potentially holding you back from completing healing?
9 Common reasons – why am I not getting better?
There are several obstacles to cure that may be preventing you from getting better. Each section has some introspection of questions to ask yourself.
Time
Not allowing enough time for the effect to take place and for your body to heal. There is a very general rule of thumb. For every year you have had a problem, you need to give it one month of treatment. Commitment to the timeline is very important to get the results you desire. If you have a chronic problem example, autoimmune, endometriosis, arthritis ect. problems had the problem for 5 years and have seen no improvement for 3 months you need to keep going. It got you a while to get into this state it will take a while to get out of this.
How committed to the timeline have you been?
Diet
Food is medicine. Or food can be a poison. One of the hardest things that I have observed from patients is changing diets. For sure most negotiations come from this conversation. “Just one glass of red wine, doctor”.
If a person has candida, the recommendation is no wheat, sugar, dairy, mushrooms, alcohol and the list goes on and on. So it is not an easy one to do. And then when the person receives the news, it will be for 3 months I totally get the negotiations. I let you in a little secret I would be doing the same thing.
Taking conventional might appear to sort the problem out short term, but it always rears its head again. Candida is a fungus we all have inside of us, but sometimes it goes out of balance and causes many problems. Eating all the food feed the candida. One can take medicine to help kill it, but if the diet is not followed, the results will not be the best. If you tend to get sore joints, how much refined foods and sugar are you consuming?
How is your diet in regard to your condition?
Mindset
Now, this is an interesting subject. As you know, I strongly look at the connection of the body-mind to physical ailments. Physical ailments/symptoms are there to send us a message that something is not quite right in our lives on an emotional level. Now either we do not want to ‘hear’ the message or are not sure what we would be without the condition.
A question to ask yourself is, what would your life be without the ‘diagnosis’?
And or what are the symptoms trying to impart and communicate to you?
An example would be if you got a sore throat after a fight with someone where you could or did not speak your truth.
Supplement type / dose / therapeutic frequency
So many times have patients used seemingly the right supplement but either not the right quality or the right dose. A very good example of this is Vitamin D. The dose for Vitamin D is anything from 500 – 50 000iu. If you take the right supplement but not the right amount, you will simply never get there.
Homeopathic secret power is in the frequency (as a side note, the stronger-tasting liquid medicine tends to be herbal medicine, so not this one). The more often the remedy is taken, the more effective it is. This means taking ten drops once hourly has a better effect than 50 drops 2 x daily.
How have you been committed to the timing of your medication?
Exercise
Having sufficient blood flow and having the blood move efficiently is one of the keys in Chinese Medicine. In fact, the emperors used to drink blood tonics from an early age to help them live longer!
Now, exercise helps the blood to move. If you have a blood sugar problem, the research shows that exercise 30 min a day for males and 45 minutes a day for females is optimal six days a week. Any less and you will not experience the benefits of blood sugar regulation. The older we get, the more muscle we lose. Doing some form of weight training helps maintain our muscles which has many, many benefits, one of those being keeping our brain young.
How is your exercise routine?
Medication
The use of certain conventional meds might affect your healing. You might be on statins and suffer from memory loss. No matter what meds I prescribe, we need to look for an alternative to statins to assist your memory. Many conventional medicines also take out nutrients and block certain pathways, thus interfering with healing on other levels. The oral contraception pill reduces Vitamin B’s and zinc from your system as well. So it is important to replenish the lost vitamins.
Are you taking any conventional medication that might be affecting your healing?
Change
Something changes in your life, for example, an emotional episode, experiencing food poisoning, using antibiotics or cortisone, and much more. I am not informed, and the treatment protocol is not adjusted appropriately. In Homeopathy alone, there are over 3000 remedies. As symptoms change, a change of a remedy is needed to effect healing on a deeper level. These affect the treatments as we treat the individual, not a generic medicine for generic problems.
Were adjustments made to your treatment protocol when you had changes in your life?
Stop treatment or prescription.
Feeling like a million bucks and stopping the prescription and treatment too soon? I have often seen people relapse back to the original state because deep healing has not occurred yet. Reconsider recommit again.
Lack of information
Not all information was revealed during the consultation. You might have been too embarrassed or thought it irrelevant. Firstly if you have had a consult with me, you know I practice non-judgment. So whatever you tell me, I see it as information to help you get to the root cause of your problem.
Did you leave anything out in your last consult, and do you think it could be affecting your healing?
